**Wilmington College currently allows students to submit requests for exemption from the Covid and flu vaccinations. Unfortunately, most of the contracted fieldwork sites for the Occupational Therapy Program require all fieldwork students to be fully vaccinated. Level I fieldwork assignments start as early as the 2nd semester of the program and the program may not be able to find and assign fieldwork sites to those OT students, who choose to request such an exemption. Completion of fieldwork experiences are mandatory for graduation from the program and for eventual licensure to practice occupational therapy. Therefore, students choosing to not be vaccinated, are choosing to put themselves at risk of not completing the program requirements, not graduating, and not becoming licensed to practice.
